Location: M.E.C.C.A. (4 West 43rd Street, Suite 316, New York, NY 10036)
A twelve week course designed to develop the student's
language skills, concentrating on vocabulary, basic grammar,
and conversation in class. Students who wish to take this class
must know their Arabic alphabet and be able to read and write
three letter words.
Teacher: Imam Mohammad Mujibur Rahman completed the Alim Course at the Madressa Arabia Islamia in South Africa, where he studied Arabic, Tafseer (Qur’anic exegesis), ‘Aqeedah (Islamic doctrine), Hadith, and Fiqh (jurisprudence) for 6 years. There, he also learned Tajweed and the 10 modes of Qir’aat (recitations of the Qur’an). After his completion of the Alim Course, he went to Darul Uloom Deoband in India, where he continued his studies in Hanafi fiqh, and took extra courses learning the madhhab. Currently, he serves as Imam, Khateeb, and teacher in Madina Masjid in Manhattan, New York.
